More painful for mummy?

Florence had her 1st jabs today. All day I felt a bit sick about the prospect of hurting my poor innocent baby and rightly so. Holding her tightly as the needle went in I felt her tense and jolt in pain and then the sobs from the tips of her toes rattled through her body. Heart-wrenching.

I really do think that a baby's cries bury deep into a mothers soul and rip apart their insides. This was the first time F had really cried in pain and it broke my heart.

However, however, however I truly believe that it is the absolutely right thing to do to get your children immunised. It's a hotly contested issue but 1) I'd rather F go through the short sharp pain of a needle than suffer the pain of the disease itself. Heck, she could die from the diseases that they get immunised from so it's a no-brainier really. And 2) I personally think it's unfair to not get your child immunised as it can mean that other children that your child is exposed to could be in real danger because you have chosen to go against the medical profession and not hope to eradicate these awful diseases once and for all.

Right, off my soap box now.

Let's just hope for a good nights sleep and no dramas.
